Natalie Imbruglia is a singer-songwriter, model and actress who first came to popularity as the character ‘Beth Brennan’ in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Three years after leaving the programme, she began a singing career with her hit cover of Ednaswap's song ‘Torn’. Her subsequent album, Left of the Middle, sold 7 million copies worldwide. Further releases, White Lilies Island and Counting Down the Days, did not sell as well, although the latter became number one in the UK.
