The band formed in the wake of the post-Britpop era under the name ‘Waterface’. They soon began to build a fan base and promptly changed their name to ‘Starsailor,’ inspired by the 1970 album 'Starsailor' by Tim Buckley. After receiving positive reviews by the NME and having a stand out performance at Glastonbury Festival that year, the band found themselves part of a bidding war between UK record companies. Finally signing to EMI they released their debut album 'Love is Here' which sold into platinum status. To date the band have released four studio albums and had ten Top 40 hit singles in the UK.
