Stone Temple Pilots (STP) hail from San Diego, California and originally comprised Scott Weiland (lead vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar) and Robert DeLeo (bass, backing vocals), along with Eric Kretz (drums). Since forming in 1989, their line-up remained unchanged until Weiland was replaced by Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. In 2015, Bennington left the band to focus solely on Linkin Park. Weiland was tragically found dead on his tour bus in 2015 prior to a performance with his band The Wildabouts. The STP went on to become one of the most commercially successful bands of the 1990s.
