They formed in '94 as a punk pop band whilst still at school in London, taking their name 'Symposium' from the Greek verb ‘sympotein’ meaning ‘to drink together’. They soon became renowned for their live shows, with Melody Maker proclaiming them to be the ‘best live band in Britain’ at the time. By '96 they signed a record deal with Infectious Records and quickly released an 8-track titled 'One Day at a Time'.
