Original litho printed tour poster for The Stereophonics

Welsh trio The Stereophonics first graced the airwaves in 1997, with their debut album 'Word Gets Around' but they really hit the big time a year later with the release of their most successful album to date, 'Performance and Cocktails' This behemoth of an album projected them into super-stardom culminating in them playing to over 200,000 people over a two day period in 2001. Since then they have continued to perform and release new material and despite the untimely death of their original drummer, Stuart Cable, they continue to perform for expectant audiences worldwide.

Released 3rd December 2001, this Stereophonics poster for ‘Handbags and Gladrags’ album features the title track which was written in 1967 by Mike d'Abo, lead singer of Manfred Mann. D'Abo described the song as 'saying to a teenage girl that the way to happiness is not through being trendy. There are deeper values.'

The original demo tape was discovered in 2004 in a closet belonging to Mo Foster amongst a collection of studio recordings d'Abo had recorded in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
