Dina Carroll poster - Express
‘Express’ (1993) was the fifth single from Dina Carroll’s album ‘So Close’, which peaked at number 12 in the UK Singles chart and 28 in Ireland.
Carroll was born in Newmarket, England and started singing at aged five. She secured a recording contract with Jive/Zomba in 1989 and released several singles, including her notable cover of Dionne Warwick’s ‘Walk On By’. After being spotted by Dennis Ingoldsby of First Avenue Management, Carroll provided vocals for Quartz on their cover of Carole King’s ‘It’s Too Late’. Relaunched as a solo artist, Carroll released her first solo single, ‘Ain’t No Man’ in 1992, reaching number 16 in the chart.
