Original poster for House of Pain - Shamrocks and Shenanigans

House of Pain was an American hip-hop group who enjoyed album success in the United States, Irish and UK charts, a legacy best remembered by the 1992 hit single ‘Jump Around’. The rise to fame began in the early 90s when lead rapper Everlast – who was later to leave the band to pursue his solo career – teamed up with DJ Lethal and high school friend Danny Boy in LA. The band broke abruptly in 1996 after their third album release and its members continued their separate careers, DJ Lethal joining the nu metal band Limp Bizkit and Danny Boy founding an art company. Everlast had solo success from his 1998 album ‘Whitney Ford Sings the Blues’ and entered the public eye again after a feud with rapper Eminem in 2000.

Rhino Records – a Warner Music subdivision – compiled Everlast’s early singles, his House of Pain tracks and his post-group solo records in the 2004 ‘Shamrocks and Shenanigans’. Everlast refused to endorse the compilation album.
