Original Stereophonics poster for ‘You Gotta Go There to Come Back’.
You Gotta Go There to Come Back was the Stereophonics 4th studio album release to top the UK chart, selling 101,946 copies in its first week. It's the final Stereophonics album to feature long-time original drummer Stuart Cable.
This is the only Stereophonics album featuring both Stuart Cable and Javier Weyler. Cable played drums on most of the tracks as the band's drummer and Weyler, contributed to the record as an engineer, programmer and percussionist but then replaced Cable as the band's drummer in 2005.
The drums on the track 'I'm Alright (You Gotta Go There To Come Back)'' are supposedly played by Mac Hine. This is a nod to the drum machine which was used on the track instead of real live drumming.
The album features one of the most well known Stereophonics tracks, Maybe tomorrow.
