Tomb Raider is widely considered by gamers and reviewers to be one of the greatest video games of all time. Released by CORE design in 1996, no one could have anticipated the massive franchise to be born from the original game. No less than 10 sequels to the game have been produced to date, along with 2 hugely successful Hollywood movie adaptations.

The Angel of Darkness is the 6th game in the series and a direct sequel to Tomb Raider Chronicles and The Last Revelation. Developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive, the game was originally released in 2003 and was the first Tomb Raider title to be released for the PS2. The stoy follows Lara Croft as she attempts to clear herself of murder while investigating the activities of a black magic cult.

Development of The Angel of Darkness began three years before release with the intention to create a different game from previous entries which could compete better with newer games, and exploit the potential of the next gen platforms. Fraught with difficulties, the production was delayed twice, but when released, it sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.
